Russel Van Dulken’s bio

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken is a 22 years old professional CS:GO player for FaZe. He became interested in video games in his early childhood while watching his father playing. Eventually, the father showed Russel his first FPS game, Quake. Twistzz didn't like attending school as he was bullied there, so he spent a lot of time in CS:GO.

With the North American team Tectonic, Russell began his CS:GO career and competed in several tier 2-3 competitions. However, in this squad, he didn't have any well-known teammates.

After making his EPL debut in 2016, he became one of the first players to play professionally and was younger than the original Counter-Strike.

Soon Twistzz's transfer to Team SoloMid happened, where he remained for around a year. After that, he transferred to Misfits Gaming in January 2017 and then, shortly after, joined Liquid alongside his teammates. This was a great step forward for him as Russel had only competed in two S-Tier tournaments before joining the Dutch organization. He was hired by Liquid, who was still far from dominating the globe then, to replace Jacob "Pimp" Winneche. This chapter of his career was followed by several outstanding achievements among the best teams in 2019, including two MVP awards for ESL One New York 2018 and IEM Sydney 2019.

Furthermore, the Canadian was ranked the 12th and 9th best player in 2018 and 2019, respectively. The second-longest serving player at Liquid, Twistzz, decided to leave the team in early 2021 and joined FaZe Clan to compete in Europe. FaZe didn't know then that this would be one of the most successful esports transfers in their history.

Except for amazing performance at IEM Cologne 2021, when the team finished in respectable semifinals in the first CS:GO LAN event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Twistzz generally had subpar performances for the remainder of 2021 with FaZe Clan.

The next year turned out to be much more successful for the team. FaZe dominated the CS:GO scene winning IEM Katowice 2022, ESL Pro League Season 15, PGL Major Antwerp 2022, and IEM Cologne 2022. The Antwerp success made Russel the first Canadian to win a CS:GO Major. Twistzz's price is $2.660.000, making him one of the most expensive players.
